Newly elected chairman of Delhi Wakf Board Mateen Ahmed said his priority is to revive the finance of the revenue-starved board, so that it can start welfare schemes for the poor.
The current annual income of the board is Rs 2 crore, which is not enough to meet the expenses.
Ahmed said he would look at tapping tenancy transfers and advertisements to increase revenue of the board.
