Two assailants forcibly dragged a 24-year-old woman from a public conveyance into their car and allegedly tried to molest her in outer Delhi’s Aman Vihar on Thursday.

She, however, escaped by jumping off the car. The accused have been arrested, police said.
The victim was returning home in Aman Vihar from her Karol Bagh office. She took a Metro for Nangloi and from there boarded a rural transport vehicle.

Soon, an Alto car stopped near the vehicle and two men dragged her out and forced her to sit in the car, she told police.

They tried to molest her but she jumped from the moving car. Her foot came under the car’s rear wheels, leaving her in a pool of blood. Seeing this, the assailants fled.

“We received a call around 10.54 pm that a woman was lying in pool of blood at Baldev Public School in Aman Vihar. Immediately, two police teams and a police control room van rushed to the spot,” said B S Jaiswal, deputy commissioner of police (outer).

Before police reached, a passerby informed them that he was taking her to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital.

The victim told police that she was kidnapped by two men known to her, but they tried to molest her but she jumped off the car. She also gave the names and descriptions of the assailants.

A case of kidnapping and molestation has been registered against Kuldeep, 24, and Deepak 20. On Friday, they were arrested in Aman Vihar.

Earlier, Kuldeep owned a rural transport vehicle which was driven by Deepak. Kuldeep then started a finance business and runs an office at Kirari where Deepak visited him regularly.

They knew the victim and were on talking terms with her, police said. They told police that they did not kidnap her. She herself came to them as they knew each other for a long time, they said. However, police are still interrogating them.
