Failed in a love affair, a 19-year-old fashion designing student, who hails from Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh, committed suicide by hanging himself at his flat in Naraina in south west Delhi.
The incident was reported on Saturday evening Nitin Srivastav’s one-room flat in Naraina.
A friend of Nitin’s knocked at hid door but when there was no response, he informed the neighbours and his land lord. Police was then informed.
“We received a call and rushed to the spot. When we broke open the door, we found him hanging from the ceiling fan,” said a senior police officer.
The victim was rushed to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital where he was declared brought dead.
Police found a suicide note from the room that said he had failed in love and was depressed.
“We are questioning all his friends who were in touch with him,” said a police officer.
