South Indian regional airline Air Pegasus has strengthened its fleet size to three aircraft with the induction of a new aircraft ATR 72-500, as part of its plans to take its fleet tally to 10 aircraft by end of the calendar year.

“We will receive two more aircraft within two months, and have ordered five more aircraft,” Air Pegasus Managing Director Shyson Thomas said.

With the new aircraft, Air Pegasus aims to spread it wings to Puducherry, Goa, Kochi and Vijayawada, while other sectors such as Tuticorin, Belagavi, and Rajahmundry are part of future plans.

“Amid weak economic sentiment worldwide, India has been showing a strong economic prospect that has culminated into substantial rise in the country’s air traffic,” Thomas said.
