"The bus has got communication network features which is useful for the defence sector and various government departments, including health and education sector," Ashok Leyland Managing Director R Seshasayee told reporters at the 10th Auto Expo here.
The company has tied up with Cisco for providing communication network, he said.
The company has initiated dialogue with various government departments and the concept bus has generated a lot of interest, he said.
iBUS2 offers digital communication equipment that communicates in real-time with a remote control centre for exchange of critical information required for decision making, he said.

For example, if there is an accident the person can get medical help by getting connected to a doctor at a remote place and a life can be saved without losing crucial time, Seshasayee said.

A bus can to customised as per the needs and specifications of a customer, he said, adding that it could turn into a mobile hospitals or mobile training centre.
At the same time, iBUS2 could be the answer to a long felt need in security preparedness with its innovative features facilitating intelligent responses to emergency situation, he said.
