Currently, the government holds 67 per cent stake in BHEL. Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee in his budget reply had indicated that the government would come out with a road map for carrying of divestment of equities in selected PSUs. The budget for 2009-10 has set a target of mobilizing funds to the tune of Rs 1,120 crore during the current fiscal through PSU disinvestment.
