Bengaluru: From high-speed tech purchases like wearables and audio products to late-night orders, Bengaluru tops the list for Flipkart Minutes, the quick commerce arm of Flipkart. The city also witnessed the fastest-ever delivery-just 3 minutes and 21 seconds- in the city's HSR Layout.
Flipkart Minutes, which completed a year of its operations, on Monday revealed that peak quick commerce orders occurred between 7 am and 8 am for morning necessities and young consumers in cities such as Pune, Patna, and Bengaluru were the most active instant shoppers.
During the summer season, Bengaluru led summer demand, and the top five summer products were curd/yoghurt, aerated drinks, ice creams, buttermilk and fruit drinks. In its insights, Flipkart Minutes also revealed that with over a million orders placed this year, onions top the quick commerce list.
Interestingly, consumers ordered 12 million scoops of ice cream and an average of four packets of Maggi noodles every minute throughout the year.
A consumer placed 886 orders in one year alone, while another consumer placed the highest single-order value, hitting Rs 1.85 lakh. Last year in September, hundreds of people gathered outside Mumbai’s Apple Store in Band-Kurla Complex to purchase the iPhone 16, and according to insights, a consumer who was standing in queue for over five hours decided to place the order on the Flipkart Minutes app and got his iPhone 16 delivered in just 10 minutes.
While Guwahati showed high demand in beauty and personal care, Mumbai led in pet food orders, and Kolkata was observed as the country's dessert capital on Flipkart Minutes, with high-frequency orders for chocolates, cookies, and ice cream.
Flipkart Minutes' insights revealed many intriguing consumer behaviours, including the most notable late-night order, where an ice cream order was placed precisely at 2:58 AM in Delhi. Also, tech products, especially mobile chargers, power banks, and cables, dominated late-night orders.
On Valentine's Day alone, orders for chocolates rose by 4X on the platform.
