Bengaluru: Indigo parent company InterGlobe and hospitality group Accor began a new partnership for a loyalty programme, the companies said in a press note on Wednesday.
Both IndiGo and Accor offer their loyalty programmes to their customers. They have now agreed to develop a strategic collaboration through their loyalty programmes, the companies said. The collaboration would enable them to partner on initiatives such as rewards points sharing and co-branded loyalty.
Their objective is to create India’s fastest-growing hospitality business with a network target of 300 hotels under Accor’s brands by 2030.
Under the partnership Accor and InterGlobe would also bring together their currently owned assets to form one platform, via which Accor would grow all its brands in India.
Furthermore, Accor and InterGlobe will jointly invest in budget hotel platform Treebo, becoming the largest shareholder in the firm. Treebo will develop the Ibis and Mercure brands in India through a master license agreement.
India’s hotel industry remains highly fragmented, presenting a major opportunity for organised, said the companies in the note.
