In the corresponding year-ago period, the company had posted a net income of US$ 545 million, Dell said in a statement.
The company’s revenues rose by a marginal 1 per cent to US$ 15.65 billion in the second quarter of FY’12 from US$ 15.53 billion in the year-ago period. Dell said growth in its enterprise solutions and services business, as well as the performance of India and China, drove the company’s profitability in the second quarter.
Dell’s revenues from India grew by 21 per cent during the period under review, while its China business saw a 20 per cent jump.
