The JV, in which Bharti has 58.9 per cent stake and the rest is with Del Monte, launched a range of products in the F&B category from the latter’s portfolio. It will set up a green field facility near Hosur in Tamil Nadu to produce a range of food and beverage products for the Indian market. “This is a significant milestone for us as we make our entry into the processed food and beverage segments,” Bharti Enterprises Vice Chairman Rakesh Bharti Mittal said. It will make an initial investment of about Rs 100 crore towards setting up the new facility, expected to start operations in 2010.
