About 68% of the mobile gamers are college students and employed youth, says a study, which was conducted by Reliance Games, a leading developer and publisher of mobile games.

The study was conducted in eight metropolitan areas and 27 cities for online gamers in India. Users in the age group of 18-34 account for about 59% of the overall sessions in a year. This could be attributed to a very fast paced young population of India who are very versatile in their choice of entertainment, and are more prone to adoption of new services and spends, the study said.

Today, the mobile gaming industry is estimated to grow from $88 billion to $110 billion by 2018. Meanwhile, on Thursday, Reliance Games kicked off its second edition of international mobile gaming conference - Pocket Gamer Connects.

The definition of ‘gaming’ continues to evolve, and mobile gaming is playing a large role in broadening traditional perspectives. While many consider ‘gamers’ to be niche group of PC and console players, the rise of mobile gaming has expanded the definition to a much wider group.
