As it entered 25 years of operations in India, global automobile giant Mercedes-Benz on Thursday launched its much-awaited V-Class luxury multi-purpose vehicle.

Launched in two variants-V-Class Expression is priced ex-showroom at Rs 68.40 lakh while V-Class Exclusive will cost ex-showroom Rs 81.90 lakh.

Martin Schwenk, MD & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India and Michael Jopp, Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Mercedes-Benz India launched the V-Class in Mumbai.

"We are into 25 years of operations now in India. It is a significant milestone for our brand in India...we are moving ahead with the 'best never rest' philosophy," Schwenk told reporters at the launch.

According to him, this is the first-of-its-kind product in India and will create a new benchmark for luxury travel in the country. "2019 is going to be interesting, exciting...a number of new launches has been planned," he said.

He said the V-Class combines exemplary functionality with luxury appeal, unsurpassed comfort, efficient driving dynamics and uncompromised safety.

"The V-Class combines the high standards of passenger car with the functionality of a MPV," he said, adding that it can be adapted to the market and customer-specific demands owing to its wide range of equipment options. "This is one of the exciting product from our global portfolio," he added.
