The Modi-led government is looking to fulfill aspirations of industrialists in Karnataka by bringing in a conducive atmosphere for business through a thrust on investment and infrastructure, Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers Ananth Kumar said on Saturday.

At a distribution function of the 9th Export Excellence Awards for 2012-13 organised by Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI) on Saturday, Ananth Kumar gave accolades to exporters from the state for their business acumen in bringing in foreign currency and expanding trade out of India.

Karnataka Minister for Higher Education and Tourism R V Deshpande said, “We should roll out the red carpet to investors. Only then, can we create employment opportunities.”
Need for JVs emphasised

Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers Ananth Kumar exhorted the need for joint ventures (JV) with Afghanistan and Bangladesh.

“JVs with both countries will give pace to investment opportunities and enhance economic prosperity,” he said.

“We want to replicate our Oman experience in Afghanistan. Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd and Gujarat State Fertilizers and Chemicals Limited are planning a JV with Afghanistan for process natural gas and naphtha. It will also help ancillary units in the petrochemical industries,” he said.
