"Punj Lloyd Delta Renewables, a Group Company ...today announced winning an EPC contract for a centralised water treatment plant... awarded on a turnkey basis by the Public Health Engineering Department of the Bihar government," the company said in a statement.
The scope of work includes engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning of a centralised water treatment plant to supply treated water to Khaira and its adjoining villages, the company said.
The project will be completed over a period of 24 months, it added.
"...this contract ... will strengthen our footprint in Bihar, where we secured India's largest solar based EPC contract to construct 850 water treatment plants across the state. Water treatment continues to be a core focus within our renewables portfolio," Chief Executive Officer, Punj Lloyd Delta Renewables Dr Tariq Alam said.
The group has executed large-scale sewerage pipeline networks and water distribution networks, employing conventional, as well as pipe-jacking and tunneling technologies. The group has to its credit, the construction of Singapore's Changi Water Reclamation Plant which is one of the world's largest wastewater projects.
