Singapore Airshow 2014 which played host to over 1,000 exhibitors from 47 countries has ended with announced deals worth $32 billion, its organisers said on Saturday.
The total announced deals that were sealed during the event were worth $32 billion by Airbus, Embraer, Boeing and Rolls-Royce. Embraer, the world's largest maker of regional aircraft, said on Thursday that India's Air Costa had placed a firm order for 50 jets, in a deal valued at $2.94 billion. It said Air Costa had options for an additional 50 purchase rights for E190-E2 jets.
Boeing and Thailand’s budget carrier Nok Air announced a commitment to order eight Next-Generation 737-800s and seven 737 MAX 8s valued at $1.45 billion.
Sean Lee, Airbus spokesman in Asia said, “In addition to presenting the A350 XWB for the first time, we announced orders valued at almost $15 billion, as well as the establishment of a new joint venture training centre with Singapore Airlines.”
Canada’s Bombardier said it had firmed orders and commitments for 17 aircraft worth $852 million at the show.
