Tariq Premji, the younger son of billionaire Azim Premji, has been appointed on the board of Wipro Enterprises.
Tariq will become the third member of the family after his father and brother Rishad Premji and will be the sixth member of the Wipro Enterprise board. “His independent objective view will add value to the board’s deliberations,” the company said in a statement.
Wipro Enterprises comprises of three main businesses - Wipro Consumer Care & Lighting, Wipro Infrastructure Engineering and Medical Diagnostic Products & Services business.
Wipro decided to retain the IT business as a publicly listed company in 2012.
