Tickets for maiden AirAsia India flight sold out in 10 minutes

Tickets for AirAsia India's maiden flight from Bangalore to Goa were sold out within 10 minutes, the airline said today.

"AirAsia India sold out 25,000 promo seats within 48 hours of opening for bookings. The tickets for the first flight from Bangalore to Goa on June 12 were sold out within 10 minutes of opening for sales," the Chennai-based carrier said in a statement.

"We are very excited by the feedback we received from the market. Our motto has always been to make everyone fly and we have already begun to show that we are true to our promise," AirAsia India Chief Executive Officer Mittu Chandilya said.

On May 30, AirAsia announced fares of Rs 990 inclusive of taxes for the maiden flight.
