Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is set to deliver the Union Budget 2025 on February 1. This will be her record eighth consecutive budget that is expected to contain measures to shore up weakening economic growth and ease the burden on the middle class struggling with high prices and stagnant wage growth.

The Budget Session will be held in two phases. The first part of the Session began on January 31 and will end on February 13, while the second phase will begin on March 10.

This budget presentation will take Sitharaman closer to the record of 10 budgets that were presented by former Prime Minister Morarji Desai over different time periods.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday hinted at new initiatives for the poor and middle class as well as women as he laid out his government's vision a day before the Union Budget is presented in Parliament.

When does the Budget Speech by FM Nirmala Sitharaman start?

The Budget presentation is scheduled for February 1, 2025, with FM Sitharaman expected to begin her address at 11 am. Sitharaman will outline budgetary allocations and revenue expectations for the upcoming financial year. The Budget documents will be tabled in the Rajya Sabha following her speech.
