The Election Commission on November 10 declared the winner of Madhepura Assembly Constituency (AC No 73) in Madhepura district which went to polls on November 07, 2020. Chandra Shekhar of the Rashtriya Janata Dal won the Madhepura seat beating Janata Dal (United) candidate Nikhil Mandal by a margin of 15072 votes.
In Bihar Assembly Election 2015, RJD candidate Chandra Shekhar won Madhepura constituency seat with a margin of 20.5% securing 90974 votes against BJP candidate Vijay Kumar 'Bimal'.
