The Election Commission on November 10 declared the winner of Mahishi Assembly Constituency (AC No 77) in Saharsa district which went to polls on November 07, 2020. Gunjeshwar Sah of the Janata Dal (United) won the Mahishi seat beating Rashtriya Janata Dal candidate Gautam Krishna by a margin of 1630 votes.
In Bihar Assembly Election 2015, RJD candidate Dr. Abdul Ghafoor won Mahishi constituency seat with a margin of 18% securing 56436 votes against RLSP candidate Chandan Kumar Sah.
