Bihar has become political battleground in the backdrop of the assembly elections during the most important festival of the state - Chhath Puja. Leaders from NDA and I.N.D.I.A. are organising rallies and yatras in order to make their message reach the people.
On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the charge with rallies in Samastipur and Begusarai, where he urged voters to vote for the BJP-led coalition and ensure a 'record-breaking' victory for the alliance.
During his address in the Samastipur, PM Modi said that a 'chaiwala' has ensured 1 GB data costs less than a cup tea.
"Now we have created a system where 1 GB of data costs no more than one cup of tea, this 'chaiwala' has ensured this," Modi said.
He further said, "The youth of Bihar have benefited the most from this. The reels being made and all the creativity you see are because of the BJP-NDA government." The PM also claimed that many from the state are earning good money by making reels on Instagram.
In the same rally, he also asked people to turn on the flashlights of their smartphones and took a jibe at RJD by saying, "When every person has light in his/her hand, does anyone need lantern (RJD's election symbol)."
He further said, "The entire country is watching and listening, Bihar does not need lantern and its partners."
Bihar is set to vote for the 2025 assembly elections which will happen in two phases on November 6 and November 11. Results will be announced on November 14.
In the NDA, BJP and JD(U) are contesting 101 seats each, followed by LJP-R (29) and HAM and RLM (six each).
Among the I.N.D.I.A. bloc partners, the RJD has a lion’s share of 143 seats, followed by the Congress (61), CPI(ML) Liberation (20), VIP (16), CPI (9) and CPI(M) (4).
