The grass has been greener on the other side for many turncoats who switched parties ahead of the Delhi assembly elections.

Some of them are now poised to win after having contested the 2025 polls with a new ticket.

Here is a look at the turncoats and how they performed -

Arvinder Singh Lovely

It has been a 'lovely' switch for the former Delhi Congress President, who quit the party in 2024 to join the saffron brigade. He has won the Gandhi Nagar seat, defeating AAP's Naveen Chaudhary by 12,748 votes.

Kamal Arora

Arora, who joined Congress from AAP lost the contest with the grand old party failing to make a mark of any sort in the capital.

Brahm Singh Tanwar

Tanwar joined AAP from BJP but luck did not side with him when he contested from Chhatarpur as he lost by 6239 votes to the AAP turncoat who joined BJP!

Kartar Singh Tanwar

Tanwar, who joined BJP from AAP and contested the Chhatarpur seat, won, securing 80,469 votes and beat the BJP turncoat who had gone to Kejriwal's side.

Kailash Gahlot

Gahlot, who had served as the Minister of Transport and Environment in the Delhi govt before switching to the BJP from AAP came out on top, defeating not just AAP candidate Surender Bharadwaj, but also the AAP turncoat who joined Congress -- Devinder Sehrawat, in the Bijwasan seat. Gahlot won with a comfortable margin of over 11,000 votes.

Veer Singh Dhingan

Dhingan, who joined AAP from Congress looks poised to win Seemapuri at the time of writing, with the final round of counting on and the candidate ahead of the BJP contestant -- who is the runner-up -- by over 10,000 votes.

Anil Jha

Jha, who quit BJP for AAP, has clinched the Kirari seat by 21,871 votes, defeating the saffron party's Bajrang Shukla.

Somesh Shokeen

Somesh Shokeen, who joined AAP from Congress is likely to be the runner-up in Matiala, currently lagging by 25,139 votes behind BJP's Sandeep Sherawat.

B B Tyagi

Tyagi joined AAP from BJP only to find himself on the losing side, as the saffron party's Abhay Verma clinched the Laxmi Nagar seat by over 11,000 votes.

Rajkumar Chauhan

Chauhan who joined BJP from Congress saw fortune side with him as he won the Mangolpuri seat, defeating AAP's Rakesh Jatav aka Dharam Rakshak, and the Congress candidate Hanuman Chauhan -- who came in third.

Raaj Kumar Anand

Anand didn't find much joy after switching from AAP to BJP as Kejriwal's party candidate Pravesh Ratn clinched the Patel Nagar seat.

Manjinder Singh Sirsa

Sirsa's switch from Akali Dal to BJP paid dividends as the candidate managed to win the Rajouri Garden seat on the saffron party ticket.

Jitender Singh Shunty

Shunty joined AAP from BJP but was shunted to second place in the Shahdara seat by saffron party candidate Sanjay Goyal who emerged victorious.

Tarwinder Singh Marwah

Marwah joined BJP from Congress and ended up defeating AAP heavyweight Manish Sisodia in Jangpura.

Asim Khan

Khan who joined Congress from AAP came in third behind BJP's Deepti Indora in Matia Mahal, while Kejriwal's party clinched the seat.

Dharampal Lakra

Lakra too joined Congress from AAP and like Khan, came in third -- in the Mundka seat -- behind his former party candidate. BJP's Gajender Drall is poised to clinch the seat.

Overview of Delhi elections

It has been a saffron surge in Delhi to sweep away Kejriwal's AAP. BJP has won 40 seats, while AAP only managed 17 at the time of writing, with party chief Arvind Kejriwal accepting the people's verdict and promising to be part of a constructive opposition.
