Mamata Banerjee also upped her verbal attack on BJP, saying Modi and the saffron party only care about Hindus. Phase 3 of the elections will encompass the states of Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Jammu and Kashmir, along with the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli/Daman and Diu.

Voter turnout ay 60.19%, Assam records highest number at 74.86%
According to the Election Commission, a voting percentage of 60.19 was recorded till 5 pm. The voting started at 7 am. While the official time for voting to end is 6 pm, it can go beyond fixed polling hours to enable voters who have come in the queue well in time fixed for the close of poll to exercise their franchise.

With the conclusion of Phase-3, polling is now over in 20 States/UTs and 283 Parliamentary Constituencies for General Elections 2024. A total of 1331 candidates were in the electoral fray in this Phase.
State-wise approximate voter turnout at 8pm shows Assam leading at 75.26%, followed by Goa at 74.27% and West Bengal at 73.93%. Lowest voter turnout in Maharashtra at 54.77%

75 international delegates from 23 countries visited many polling stations in 6 states to witness the poll process. The delegates also witnessed the process of dispatch of polling materials and machines to the polling teams

Third phase of polling has been successfully concluded for 10 seats in Uttar Pradesh, namely Agra, Aonla, Budaun, Bareilly, Etah, Fatehpur Sikri, Firozabad, Hathras, Mainpuri, and Sambhal. Till now, the voter turnout has been recorded at 57.34 per cent, which is 2.5 per cent more than what it was in 2019

Voting took place on 25 seats of Gujarat, 14 seats of Karnataka, 11 seats of Maharashtra, 10 seats of Uttar Pradesh, nine in Madhya Pradesh, seven in Chhattisgarh, five in Bihar, four each in Assam and West Bengal, and two each in Goa and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu.
This round of polling covered several troubled hotspots across India, from the North eastern states to the Naxalism-affected areas in Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh.
In the third phase, several prominent candidates entered the electoral fray. These included senior BJP leaders Amit Shah, Mansukh Mandaviya, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Pralhad Joshi, Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Basavaraj Bommai. From Opposition parties, there was Congress leader Digvijay Singh, Samajwadi party leader Dimple Yadav, NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) leader Supriya Sule. Their fate is now sealed in EVMs and the results will only be known on June 4.
