Elections in Punjab ended largely peaceful with a 61% voter turnout.

The voter turnout for the lone Lok Sabha seat in Chandigarh remained at 66% till filing of the report.

Voting was held for the 13 seats in Punjab on Sunday.

Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh’s wife and former Union minister Preneet Kaur, former deputy chief minister Sukhbir Badal, his wife and Union minister Harsimrat Kaur, actor Sunny Deol, former Union minister Manish Tiwari were in the poll fray.

Actor Kirron Kher contested the election on a BJP ticket from Chandigarh against former Union railway minister Pawan Kumar Bansal.
