The Trinamool Congress (TMC) in its manifesto released on Wednesday announced that it will ensure that probe is initiated into demonetisation after a new government comes to power.

Releasing the manifesto TMC supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that her party will demand a probe monitored by a Supreme Court judge into demonetisation.

“In who interest was demonetisation executed? Who benefited from it. We have mentioned in our manifesto that after a new government comes to power there will investigation into demonetisation monitored by a Supreme Court judge,” said Banerjee.

The manifesto included several promises of rolling back several measures initiated by the Narendra Modi-government. It announced that the Planning Commission which was winded up by the BJP government will brought back in a manner where it will strengthen the federal structure of the country.

It further stated that GST will be thoroughly reviewed and if it was found to be against the people’s interest it will be removed.

The Chief Minister also said that after a new government comes to power the current guarantee of 100 days work under MNREGA will be increased to 200 days.
