West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in two back to back rallies alleged that Congress and RSS were working in collusion in parts of the state, especially Murshidabad district. Murshidabad is known to be a Congress bastion. However, Trinamool Congress (TMC) has made significant inroads in the district by allegedly engineering defection in Congress.

The Chief Minister not only targeted the sitting Congress MP from the Baharampur Lok Sabha seat in the district Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury for colluding with RSS but she also took a dig at former President Pranab Mukherjee for attending an RSS event.

“RSS is working for Congress in two places. Jangipur (in Murshidabad from where Mukherjee was an MP)) and in Baharampur RSS is working for Adhir Chowdhury,” said Banerjee.

Training her guns on the former President’s son and Congress candidate and sitting MP from Jangipur Lok Sabha seat Abhijit Mukherjee the Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo said that RSS is working for Abhijit is Jangipur.

Even as she claimed that there will be a coalition government based on a common minimum agenda Banerjee cautioned Congress not to boast too much about being the only national party which can stop BJP.

“One should remember that we are also a nationally recognised party. Congress should not boast they are the only national party,” said Banerjee.

Banerjee alleged that she has got report that the Central forces in some places were intimidating villagers and asking them to vote for BJP.

“We got information that they (Central forces) are intimidating people and asking them to vote for BJP. We respect BSF and CRPF. We request them not to work for BJP,” said Banerjee.

She also took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi in relation to the 'black box' which was seen being taken out from his chopper cavalcade in Chitradurga.
