Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar confirmed that the actor filed a formal complaint alleging that doctored images of him were used to create pornographic videos that were later uploaded to adult websites and widely circulated online. Acting on the complaint, the Cybercrime Division registered a case and began a detailed probe into the origin and spread of the content.

According to Chiranjeevi, the videos were being used to make money while portraying him in indecent and objectionable ways. In his five-page complaint, he stated that the doctored clips depicting him with a Bollywood actress had gravely damaged his reputation, caused emotional distress to his family, and violated his right to privacy and dignity.

Following his complaint, Hyderabad Cybercrime Police registered a case under Sections 67 and 67A of the IT Act; Sections 79, 294, 296, and 336(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS); and Sections 2(c), 3, and 4 of the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986.

The actor said he recently discovered that several websites were hosting AI-generated and morphed pornographic videos using his likeness and name, falsely depicting him in obscene acts. He added that these videos were inflicting serious and lasting damage to his reputation and were intended to malign him by distorting public perception and undermining decades of goodwill. Notably, a Hyderabad civil court has already issued an ad-interim injunction in his favor to safeguard his personality and publicity rights.
