Abhishek Bajaj, Baseer Ali and Ashnoor Kaur shared personal stories about the tough choices they have had to make in their careers in a candid conversation at the Bigg Boss 19 house. Abhishek revealed he was once ousted from a Telugu film because of his physique.
“I am tall and have a good build, and I was supposed to do a parallel lead with a hero from a film family. But since I had a similar screen presence, he felt insecure, and I was removed at the very last moment,” recalled Abhishek.
Abhishek and Ashnoor also discussed the differences between OTT shows, television and movies. They were seen explaining that TV requires being louder to grab attention, especially for women balancing work and household responsibilities, while OTT work is more subtle in its storytelling.
Reflecting on his journey, Baseer said, “I initially used to run away from acting. I would do 1–2 reality shows a year and spend the rest of the time having fun and travelling. After my first show, I realised the importance of hustle. Once it ended, I felt I couldn’t stay idle, I needed work.”
Ashnoor also spoke about her mother’s influence, calling her “my biggest critic.” She said, “My mom knows my calibre. There were days when people on set would applaud my work, but when I went back to her, she would school me on how it could be done better. Her validation means a lot to me.”
Ashnoor got emotional recalling a film she did during lockdown, her first project without her mother’s guidance. “When she saw it, she loved it. That was one of the few times I had happy tears in my eyes,” she shared.
These touching revelations offer a rare look into the commitment, challenges and transformation hidden behind the glitter and glamour in showbiz.
