Actor Ram Charan is arguably one of the biggest young stars in the Telugu film industry and enjoys a strong fan following due to sincere performances. The ‘Mega Power Star’, who suffered a setback when his movie Orange bombed at the box office, ultimately consolidated his standing in T-town with hits such as Dhruva and Rangasthalam and emerged as a bankable name. On Saturday, as the mass hero turns a year older, here is a look at his upcoming films.

RRR

Charan will be playing the role of the legendary freedom fighter Alluri Sita Rama Raju in the SS Rajamouli-directed period drama RRR, which stars Jr NTR as the parallel lead. The ace filmmaker’s latest magnum opus is touted to be bigger than the Baahubali saga and is likely to be a gamechanger for Indian cinema. It has a star-studded cast that includes Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, Alia Bhatt, Olivia Morris and Kollywood actor Samuthirakani. The biggie is slated to release in theatres on October 13.

The star will be seen essaying the role of a youth leader in the action drama Acharya, which stars his father Tollywood legend Chiranjeevi in the lead. The film has been directed by Koratala Siva and has a commercial plot with religious undertones. It was to star Trisha as the leading lady opposite ‘Megastar’ but that did not happen as she opted out. The makers soon roped in Kajal Aggarwal as her replacement. Acharya is slated to release in May.

RC 15

Charan will soon be teaming up with maverick filmmaker Shankar for a film being backed by Dil Raju. It will reportedly be shot on a budget of Rs 150 crore and feature a commercial storyline. RC 15 may star Rashmika Mandanna as the leading lady. There have also been talks of Shankar roping in South Korean actor Bae Suzy to romance ‘Mr C’ in his magnum opus.
