Oscar-winning actor Morgan Freeman, who is reportedly shooting here for a documentary on the greatest religions of the world, was on Friday spotted filming at a Buddhist monastery here.

Dressed in a blue kurta teamed with black trousers, the actor was seen sporting shades and seemed eager to learn about the religion in its birthplace.

Freeman, known for his roles in films like "The Shawshank Redemption", "Seven" and "Million Dollar Baby", was seen interacting with a monk, and relaxing in between the shoot. At one point, he even folded his hands in a 'Namaste' gesture, and then greeted a monk by shaking hands.

The film's crew seems to be capturing key facets of the colourful and intricately decorated monastery, which has an overwhelming statue of lord Buddha.
