How sad! The best part of the movie gets over even before it starts: the credits. The imaginative drawings smell of cinematic genius and the viewer waits for that little Hrishikesh Mukherjee-ish gem to explode.
First time director-actor Rahul Aggarwal begins with a narration of his village where everyone is so loveable (and loud too). Father Om Puri does a good job though his chaddis get more screen time.
Mother Neena Gupta does her chores with a Kajra re on lips while our hero amazingly maintains one expression throughout and goes to Mumbai to work in the Mausam Vibhag. Now on, nothing is predictable. Om Puri gets his son married in a day, the bride (TV actress Narayani Shastri) goes missing in Mumbai, cop Paresh Rawal keeps his bushy brows raised... And the result is awful.
Ravi Kissen, the tapori friend, is the only relief. The story is simple. Boring too.
