Daniel Radcliffe, who has achieved global fame with his boy wizard role in the superhit 'Harry Potter' series is all set to play a tragic young photojournalist who was killed in Somalia.

The 18-year-old star, who is looking forward to more substantial roles in Hollywood after he wraps up the last movie of the successful franchise, said he is determined to play British journalist Dan Eldon as it is close to his heart.

Radcliffe has already carved a niche in Broadway with his play "Equus" is moved by the "heroic" life of Eldon, who was battered to death by a mob in Somalia in 1993.

"I have a few projects on the boil, but the one that I am really interested in is based on the real-life story of a photojournalist, Dan Eldon, who was only 22 when he was killed by an angry mob in Somalia in 1993.

"He was a really heroic guy and we are just waiting for the green light on that one. It all depends on the funding," the actor said.
