Time devoted to learn music cut short by new gadgets: Jasraj

"Students these days do not need to spend 25 years to learn singing. With gadgets like ipods and recorders as small as peanuts, a student can carry his 'Guru' in his pocket and learn a raag in only five days," Jasraj said in an interactive session here last evening.

This (learning music) was something which used to take a number of years, but now no more, the 81-year-old Indian classical singer, said.

Earlier, two short films on Jasraj were also screened in the city following which he thanked the people of Bhopal for their appreciation.

Meanwhile, the Madhya Pradesh Government has decided to organise a music festival soon in the memory of late Bhimsen Joshi.
