Boney Kapoor, the producer of actor Ajith Kumar's upcoming movie Valimai, took to Twitter on Monday to confirm that the first look poster of the movie will be out 'soon'. He thanked fans for their support while requesting them to be patient.

His comments come days after 'Thala' fans asked cricketer Moeen Ali a question about Valimai during the ongoing second Test match between India and England in Chennai. The video of the incident went viral on social media in no time, creating a buzz among netizens. Movie buffs had earlier urged Boney Kapoor to release the first look poster of the biggie on January 1 but that did not happen.

Valimai marks Ajith's second collaboration with the Bollywood producer and noted filmmaker H Vinoth. The trio had previously teamed up for the movie Nerkonda Paarvai, which did well at the box office while receiving rave reviews.

The film was a remake of the Bollywood film Pink and revolved around the importance of consent while highlighting that 'no means no'. The cast included Shraddha Srinath, Vidya Balan, Rangaraj Pandey and Abhirami. It remains to be seen whether Valimai proves to be another Nerkonda Paarvai for them.

The movie has been shot across exotic locations and is likely to click with the 'Gen Y' audience. It is expected to be a lot more action-packed than the previously-mentioned Nerkonda Paarvai. It reportedly stars Bollywood actor Huma Qureshi as the leading lady and will mark her first collaboration with the Viswasam hero. A few websites had reported that Sridevi-Boney Kapoor's daughter actor Janhvi Kapoor is being considered for a role in Valimai. This, however, is yet to be confirmed.

The biggie was expected to hit the screens last year but could not due to the Covid-19 pandemic. One is likely to get clarity on the release date once the makers unveil the first look poster.
