At least 10 people lost their lives as monsoon revived in Maharashtra over Friday and Saturday.

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), too, received heavy rainfall in the early hours of Saturday. The weatherman has forecast rains for Sunday.

According to reports, eight people due to a lightning strike in Nanded, Latur and Osmanabad districts of the Marathwada region.

The Anjana river in Kannad in Aurangabad district flooded at several places, and one person was reported to have drowned.

At Kurla in Mumbai, a 25-year-old youth fell in an open drain and died.

Harnai received the maximum rainfall of 178 mm in the last 24 hours ending 8 am on Saturday. Akola district in Vidarbha region, too, received good rainfall.

The far western suburbs of Vasai-Virar that touches the Tungareshwar Wildlife Sanctuary received heavy rainfall and waterlogging was reported from several places.

The twin Konkan districts of Sindhudurg and Ratnagiri also received heavy rainfall.
