The incident occurred when the train was passing under the narrow overbridge catching the aspirants unawares, police said. Over two dozen others, who also fell down, sustained injuries and were being treated.
The number of dead could go up as many of the injured were in critical condition.
Irate aspirants later torched an AC coach of the train though there were no casualties among the passengers, sources said.
