14 Nigerians arrested with drugs

Fourteen Nigerian nationals were arrested for drug peddling on Friday.

The police also seized contraband worth Rs 21 lakh and a pistol from them.

Some of them had illegally entered India from Bangladesh, according to the Byculla police station, that conducted the raids in Mumbai's Chinchpokli area.

"They were into drug peddling and were hiding near Mira Road in neighbouring Thane district," said Senior Inspector Dinesh Kadam of Byculla police station.

In fact, during the operation, they also fired at the police party.

The police recovered drugs worth Rs 21 lakh, a 32 bore pistol and Rs 41,000 in cash from the arrested Nigerians.

The seized drugs included 550 grams of MD (a common recreational drug), 110 grams of brown sugar and 55 grams of cocaine.
