The Centre has constituted three committees on issues related to bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, including one headed by former Chief Vigilance Commissioner Pratyush Sinha on allocation of All India services officers and another on studying various alternatives regarding the new capital for the residual Andhra Pradesh.

The Union Home Ministry and Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) under the Ministry of Personnel had in the past couple of days issued separate orders in this regard.

The committee under K Sivaramakrishnan, former Urban Development Secretary, will look into the various alternatives for locating the new capital for Andhra Pradesh and evaluate comparative suitability based on available data, site visits and consultations with stake holders.
