Abdul Rehman Wani (63), a resident of Kunjikul village of Kulgam district, jumped into Jehlum from Padshahibagh Bridge at Bijbehara, 45 kms from here, they said.
Wani drowned in the river and efforts were on to recover his body, the police said, adding that the reason behind the extreme step was not known.
