Legend has it that the presiding deity of Lord Venkateswara came out of the Srivari Temple and gave darshan to thousands of his devotees in different avatars adorned with precious jewels from this day onwards.

Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) authorities are fully geared to the annual “Brahmotsavam” of Lord Venkateswara, slated to commence with “Ankurarpana” and “Dwajarohanam” rituals.

The temple was cleaned and decorated on Tuesday in accordance with a unique ritual, “Koil Thirumanjanam,“ wherein devotees joined the temple staff to spruce up the premises, including the sanctum sanctorum. TTD chairman Kanumuri Bapiraju said the common devotee was the VVIP during this “Brahmotsavam” and all-out efforts were being made to ensure that he got all benefits—comfortable darshan, laddu prasadam, accommodation, food and sate journey—of the temple. “It is(our)endeavour to ensure that the common devotee is happy,” he said.
