The remarkable performance by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on its electoral debut in Delhi was a warning for all political parties including the BJP, Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar said Sunday.

Parrikar was speaking to reporters outside the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state headquarters in Panaji.

"The AAP performance in Delhi is a lesson to all political parties in India, including my own party. Their performance shows that people now want fresh air in politics. They need corruption-free, nepotism-free and family-raj free political parties," Parrikar said.

The Goa chief minister termed the elections in four states as "semi-finals" to the general elections in 2014.

Surpassing public expectation, the AAP came second in the Delhi polls in an election which saw the rout of the Congress which had ruled the national capital for 15 years.
