The outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic adversely affected the footwear industry in Agra. Shoe industry owners are facing difficulties in running manufacturing units as the supply of raw material has halted. Due to the pandemic the export of shoes has also been halted. According to an exporter, Covid pandemic hits footwear industry in Agra as exports drop “The countries of the middle-east, like Dubai, where our shoes are exported…sometimes lockdown is imposed in India and when it opens here, lockdown is imposed in those countries, & vice-versa.”
