An advanced landing ground (ALG) in Arunachal Pradesh’s Pasighat, close to India's disputed border with China, is set to be operational from Friday improving the military connectivity.

After Ziro, Along and Mechuka, this will be the fourth ALG to become operational in the north-east this year. At least two more, Tuting and Tawang, will come up later this year.

“Pasighat ALG is a strategic asset and will be one of the operating bases under the Eastern Air Command, which operates all types of aircraft and helicopters. Its activation will not only improve the response time for various operational situations, but also enhance India’s air support capability for the Army, paramilitary forces and the civil administration,” said a spokesperson from the Eastern Air Command, Shillong.
