Akhilesh too ready for grand alliance to counter BJP

A day after BSP supremo Mayawati  hinted that she might not be averse to be a part of the possible 'anti-BJP' front to take on the saffron party, arch rival and Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav also said that his party was ready to join hands with others to ''fight'' BJP.

''BJP formed its government in the state by telling lies to the people.....we will welcome any party, who wants to join us in fighting the lies'', he said. Speaking at a function on the occasion of 126th birth anniversary of dalit ideologue B.R.Ambedkar here on Friday, Mayawati had said that she was ''ready to join hands with others to fight BJP and save democracy''.

Earlier also Akhilesh had, a day before the UP assembly polls results, said that he would be open to extend or take support of the BSP in the event of a hung house in the state. Akhilesh had also me leaders of opposition parties like JD (U) and NCP during his recent Delhi visit to form a grand alliance against BJP.
 
The SP supremo reiterated his opposition to holding the future polls through the EVMs saying that they could not be relied upon. ''Ballot papers should be used in all future polls'', he demanded.  Akhilesh also slammed the Yogi Adityanath government for failing to check what he alleged the spiralling crime graph and cited recent incidents to buttress his contention.
