Jana Sena has directed its Railway Koduru MLA, Arava Sridhar, to step back from party activities amid sexual exploitation allegations leveled by a married woman. Party supremo Pawan Kalyan appointed a three-member internal committee to investigate, requiring Sridhar to appear before it within a week.
The panel includes T Siva Shankar, Thamballapalli Ramadevi, and T.C. Varun. Sridhar must submit his explanation within seven days, after which the committee will report to party leadership for a final decision. He has been barred from party programmes until the inquiry concludes.
A video surfaced online Tuesday showing a mother of a three-year-old accusing Sridhar of sexually exploiting her for over a year under false marriage promises. She claimed she first messaged him on Facebook to congratulate his 2024 election win. Sridhar allegedly exploited the contact with job promises, leading to repeated harassment, sexual exploitation, and five forced abortions after pregnancies spanning a year and a half.
Sridhar vehemently denied the claims in his own video on Wednesday, labeling them "false and politically motivated." He called the circulating video a deepfake, part of a malicious campaign to defame him, and insisted the allegations lack any basis.
