Hyderabad: NDA allies in Andhra Pradesh TDP and Jana Sena have firmly aligned with the Centre for the Operation Sindoor, demonstrating unwavering support for India's military action against terrorist camps and also hailed prime minister Narendra Modi calling it a decisive action.
In a powerful display of solidarity, ruling TDP leaders gathered on Wednesday, waving national flags and chanting patriotic slogans to honor the armed forces. This followed Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's praise for Indian soldiers who avenged the Pahalgam terror attack.
Agriculture Minister K Atchannaidu, alongside party members, raised "Bharat Mata Ki Jai" and "Vande Mataram" chants at TDP headquarters in Mangalagiri. Speaking at the event, he affirmed nationwide backing for the army's operations against terrorist strongholds in Pakistan, emphasizing that the state government fully supports Prime Minister Narendra Modi's decisive action.
In Narsipatnam, Assembly Speaker Ch Ayyanna Patrudu joined citizens at the Mahatma Gandhi statue, displaying the national flag in solidarity. Echoing Naidu's stance, he declared that "India will not yield to terrorism and stands united in defending its sovereignty."
TDP Politburo member Varla Ramaiah called the airstrikes "a step that has shaken terrorist groups," adding that Modi's response has made adversaries wary.
CM Naidu was among the first political leaders to commend the armed forces on social media platform X with a patriotic "Jai Hind!" He later praised both the military's bravery and PM Modi's leadership, stating "Under Prime Minister Modi's leadership, the world has witnessed our strength and determination. Our country stands united against terror and firmly supports our Armed Forces."
Jana Sena leader and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan said that every Indian supports PM Modi's counter-terrorism decisions. He called for national unity during this critical period and warned against anti-national social media posts.
"Kashmir is an integral part of India. Pakistan-sponsored terrorist groups killed Kashmiri Pandits. They even attacked those conducting funeral rites. Modi has taken the right action at the right time," Kalyan said.
Highlighting past terrorist incidents at Lumbini Park and Gokul Chat, Kalyan remarked "With every incident, we have maintained patience until now. The time has come for a stern lesson. Operation Sindoor has restored valor to India, which had been restrained by excessive patience."
He added that during wartime, no one should engage in anti-national activities. "Do not post irresponsibly on social media. Stand in support of the central government during this difficult time," he advised, noting his recommendation to the Andhra Pradesh DGP for strict action against comments undermining the armed forces or national integrity.
When questioned about celebrity responses, Kalyan said "Celebrities do not run the country. They should remember they are not the voice of the entire nation. They too must speak responsibly to protect national integrity."
