Keen to ensure that his “Make-in-India” campaign delivers, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked Wang Jianlin – the richest man of Asia – to expeditiously implement his Dalian Wanda group’s mega-investment plans in India and launch the first project by 2017.

Wang, who is on a visit to New Delhi this week, met Modi and shared his investment plans for India, including setting up as many as five industrial parks across the country.

The prime minister told him that the Union government would extend all possible assistance to the Dalian Wanda group to expeditiously implement the plans.

The Dalian Wanda group is the largest real estate developer of China. It is also the operator of the world’s largest movie theatres.

“He (Wang) has been promised expedited land acquisition and single window clearances for his investment,” Le Yucheng, China’s ambassador to India, said, adding: “I am sure that Chinese companies will find increasingly improved investment environment in India.”
