Union minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday said the BJP-led NDA completed the seat-sharing task with allies, AASJU, JD(U) and LJP, in Jharkhand for the upcoming assembly polls.
"Diwali is just a few days away, and it is often said that cleanliness is necessary to maintain the sanctity of the home during the festival. So, in a way, this ongoing cleanup is similar. Why would we object to that? We take pride in having dedicated workers. Those who come only for personal ambitions and to contest elections will lead to such incidents," said BJP leader Pratul Shah Deo on party leaders Lois Marandi and Kunal Sarangi joining JMM ahead of the Jharkhand Assembly elections.
Pune rural police have seized Rs 5 crore in cash from a car amid the model code of conduct in force in Maharashtra for the November 20 assembly polls, an official said.
The unaccounted cash was seized on Monday evening near Khed-Shivapur plaza on Mumbai-Bengaluru highway during a police nakabandi (on-road checking), the official said.
Meanwhile, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut in a post on X on Monday night claimed "Rs 15 crore" has been seized from a car belonging to an MLA from the Shiv Sena (which is led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde).
The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) meeting for the seat-sharing for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly Elections is scheduled for today, afternoon.
The central Indian region of Vidarbha - which was once a Congress stronghold slowly became an arena of the BJP. However, for the saffron party, the 2024 Lok Sabha polls were a shocker in this vast geographical region spread in two revenue divisions of Nagpur and Amravati as the Congress made a tremendous comeback.

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut said, "Yesterday, there were 2 vehicles which had almost Rs 15 crores in them. As I had said earlier, Eknath Shinde has promised his people to give them Rs 50 crore each to win elections, it was the first installment of Rs 15 crore... There were two vehicles, they let go of one after receiving a call as the inspector that was on duty there was in service of the MLA earlier. Almost 150 MLAs of the state have received Rs 15 crore each by now."

"The situation in Mahayuti is more messed up than MVA... Seat sharing takes time because we have to keep our party workers in mind. Our issue will be resolved in a day or two. Balasaheb Thorat held a meeting with Sharad Pawar and Uddhav Thackeray and now I will meet Balasaheb Thorat. MVA seat-sharing meeting will be held after that. Former Maharashtra minister and BJP leader Rajkumar Badole on Tuesday joined the Ajit Pawar-led NCP. Badole, former MLA from Arjuni-Morgaon constituency in Gondia district, was welcomed into the party fold by Ajit Pawar and senior NCP leaders, at an event in Mumbai. “The Mahayuti government has done good work in Maharashtra and people feel that this government should come back to power,” Badole told reporters. Badole has served as minister for social justice in the Devendra Fadnavis-led ministry in the state. He was elected as a BJP candidate from Arjuni-Morgaon seat in 2009 and 2014 elections. (PTI)
Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole says, "Balasaheb Thorat gave me detailed information (about his meeting with Uddhav Thackeray). A way can be found is what we feel. We are going for the seat-sharing meeting. We hope that this is the final meeting for seat sharing."
The gazette notification for single-phase elections to the 288-member Maharashtra Legislative Assembly was issued on Tuesday, however, the seat-sharing of the two main alliances - ruling Maha Yuti (NDA) and opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (I.N.D.I.A.) are yet to be announced.

The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) on Tuesday released a list of six candidates for the Jharkhand assembly polls, ending the impasse over seat-sharing among the INDIA bloc constituents.
In a statement, the party said it nominated Suresh Paswan from Deoghar, Sanjay Prasad Yadav from Godda and Subhash Yadav from Koderma. (PTI)
