On the last working day of the winter session, the Assembly here today passed the Himachal Pradesh Lokayukt Bill 2014 with a voice vote.
The bill will consolidate and re-enact a law to provide for the appointment of Lokayukt for the state who would to enquire into allegations of corruption against certain public functionaries and for matters connected therewith.
As per the bill, the Lokayukt shall be appointed by the Governor after obtaining recommendations of the selection committee comprising CM as its chairman and Speaker of Assembly, Leader of Opposition and Chief Justice of the High Court
