The forthcoming Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) of the Associated Journals Ltd, the publishers of the now defunct National Herald, Navjivan and Quami Awaz newspapers, here was likely to witness a protest from the former employees of the company.

The former employees have warned that they will gherao the Associated Journals Limited (AJL) managing director and Congress treasurer Motilal Vora to register their protest against the meeting, which was scheduled to be held here on January 21.

The former employees will also hold a “dharna” at the gate of the National Herald office at Kaiserbagh here from January 18 to 21 against “step-motherly treatment” meted out to them by the company’s management. “The management has failed to fulfill the promises it made to the employees,” said Dileep Sinha, a former employee of National Herald.
